Michael Miles received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓin 1980. His career in electronic packaging began in 1978 at Tektronix, where he worked for six years as a mechanical and electromechanical project engineer before moving to AT&E in 1984. Here, he worked on the design and development of mechanical packaging for a variety of products. From 1988 to 2006, Miles was sole proprietor of ME-Tech LLC, an independent consulting practice that served industry with mechanical engineering expertise in all areas of product design. From 2003 to early 2007, he also worked as the director of engineering of Braking Technologies. In 2004 Miles joined Earth Class Mail as the company’s chief technology officer and served in that capacity until 2009. His CTO responsibilities include conceptualizing, simulating, and coordinating all aspects of material handling for DCI operations. Currently Miles is co-founder of another startup company (KersTech), developing hybrid retrofits for heavy duty trucks and buses, as well as continuing his consulting through ME-Tech, LLC. In the course of his career, Miles has been awarded seven U.S. patents and one European patent.
